Residence Visa

Today's Quote:
One important key to success is self-confidence. An important key to self-confidence is preparation.

Kurang seminggu genaplah dua bulan aku berada di Yanbu. Alhamdullillah, setakat ni, semua proses berjalan lancar. Proses untuk membawa keluarga pun dah hampir selesai, tengah menunggu visa calling number je (dikenali gak dengan nama yellow slip), expected to be out by next week, insyaAllah...

Banyak pertanyaan dari kawan-kawan tentang prosedur membawa keluarga ke sini. So, for those who would like to bring in their family, please get ready the following documents for submission to Saudi Government.

1. Copy of your Iqamah

2. Copy of your passport (1st page and visa page)

3. Copy of your family members passports (1st and last page)
4. Copy of your certificates like diploma, degree etc - Must be translated to Arabic.
5. Copy of your Marriage Certificate - Must be translated to Arabic.
6. Copy of children certificates - Must be translated to Arabic.
7. Invitation Letter from Sabic (Chamber Of Commerce). Must be endorsed by Chamber Of Commerce. Payment fee is SR25.
8. Application Form for Family Visa. Need to be filled up and signed by your dept manager as well as by the General Service Manager.
9. Payment of SR2000 made at Riyad Bank. The receipt to be submitted.

All these items (1 to 9) must be ready before submitting them to Yansab Security Department.

For those under family package, SR2000 will be reimbursed together with the yellow slip or some people call calling visa number. At this point you may plan for flight date and make the booking or ask the agent to make the reservation for you.
Once you have the visa number, e-mail or sent out the yellow slip or the visa number to ThinkPlus and cc to your wife. ThinkPlus will submit your family passport together with the application forms and the medical results to Saudi Embassy in KL. The process of having the visa stamped in the passport normally will take less than a week. At this point you may ask the agent to purchase the tickets. You need to closely follow up with the agent. Be tactful when you do the follow up.
InsyaAllah, if things are going smoothly, I will have my family ready to join me here by mid June 08.
On the next posting, I will write up about the process of enrolling your kids into the international school, InsyaAllah...

  1. Salam

Interested to find out further about "translating personal documents to Arabic." For those who plans to work there, can we do the translations here in Malaysia or the translation needs to be done by authorized party at Saudi Arabia?

  2. If you dop the translation in Malaysia, you need to have endorsed by Wisma Putra. they charge it RM10 per copy. Then you need to send to Saudi Embassy to be attested. I am not sure the charge.
In Saudi, I did the translation at Malysian Consulate in Jeddah. that's all. No further attestemnt or endorsement, but you need to give the original copy.
