Minggu Pertama di Yanbu

Salam semua....

Hari ni dah genap seminggu aku berada di bumi Arab Saudi. Alhamdullillah, setakat ni baik-baik saja.... Hari ni jugak kita orang dah dapat result medical check up yang diperlukan untuk buat Iqamah. Iqamah ni macam kad pengenalan kita di sini. Tanpa iqamah, semua tak boleh buat, nak jalan jauh-jauh pun tak boleh pasal passport kena ambik. Tak boleh bukak akaun bank, tak de akaun bank, gaji tak boleh masuk dsb....

Untuk kawan-kawan yang akan ke sini, aku sertakan "sequence of events" kita orang setakat ini :-

31.03.08 - Arrived Jeddah/Yanbu from KLIA.

01.04.08 - Went to SABIC Ibn Rushd to sign the working contract and to provide details peprsonal information. Inthe afternoon, we went to Yansab to collect advance SR2000. By 3pm, we were back to hotel.

02.04.08 - Went to al-Ansari Hospital to do medical check up - blood, x-ray, urine & stool. It took about 2 hours before going back to Yansab. By afternoon, went back to hotel to rest. After asar, we moved out from Danat Hotel to Lighthouse hotel which is located in RC (meaning nearer to Yansab, only 10 mins drive whereby from Danat it took 30 mins)

03.04.08 - Off day (Thursday)

05.04.08 - Report to work at Yansab. Office hour is from 7:30 till 4:00pm. Each of us went to our respective area or section. Memang tak de keje lagi so far...

06.04.08 - Attended safety induction. Applied for employee badge. Luckily we also received our medical results which we expected to have it only on Wednesday. Very fast though! Immediately we submitted the application for iqamah. Pray hard that it is ready before mid month, otherwise we won't receive our salary!!! That's the reason I asked some of you to bring some extra money...
